Tampa-based Robbins Property Associates, has bought Aventine at Boyton Beach, a 216-unit apartment community, for $43 million.
Aventine, garden-style apartments that are 95 percent occupied, will be renovated and renamed "Verona at Boynton Beach."
It is Robbin’s sixth Florida acquisition in less than a year and brings the company’s current holdings in the state to 4,500 units. Nationally, Robbins has over 13,000 apartments totaling over $1.5 billion in value.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)
Tampa, Florida-based Carter Multifamily Growth & Income Fund, LLC (“Carter Multifamily”) announced today that it acquired Peppertree Lane Apartments, a 168-unit community located in Jacksonville, Florida (“Peppertree Lane”). The acquisition marks the first for Carter Multifamily, which focuses on acquiring value-add Class B and C multifamily assets located throughout the United States.
Constructed in 1971, Peppertree Lane is comprised of 18 buildings and was 98% occupied at the time of the acquisition. Located just three miles south of the Jacksonville Central Business District, the community provides workforce housing for the area’s surrounding medical, educational and business employers.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced it was sending almost $68 million to housing authorities across the Sunshine State to help improve public housing but states with far less people claimed more funds.
The money–which comes to $67.8 million for Florida–are part of HUD’s Capital Fund Program, which, according to the department, “offers annual funding to approximately 3,100 public housing authorities to build, repair, renovate and/or modernize the public housing in their communities" which can be used to “complete large-scale improvements such as replacing roofs or making energy-efficient upgrades to replace old plumbing and electrical systems.” More than $2.6 billion is being sent by HUD to housing authorities across the nation.

TAMPA, FL – Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan says a shooting involving two Tampa Police officers might have been much worse if the mother of the shooter hadn’t intervened.
At a press conference Monday, March 19, Dugan credited the mother of Walter Richard Jeziorski, 35, of Drew Park with convincing her son to put down his guns and give himself up to police after opening fire on two officers who came to his home to serve a warrant.
